All UCI Courses

Here is a quick list of all UCI Public Safety Diving courses. As you can see, no one does it better or more in-depth! These courses are specifically designed for public safety diving and were developed to target your search and recovery/rescue needs.

 

Underwater Criminal Investigator course is UCI's foundation course and is 4-days in  length. This course is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed and survive as a true professional PSD Underwater Criminal Investigator. This is truly a hands-on training program that involves one day of classroom and four days of intensive open-water training.

 

Evidence Recovery Specialist is an 8-hr (UCI Graduates) 16-hours (Non-UCI divers)  course and specifically focuses on advanced evidence collecting techniques that includes packaging and evidence handling, electrolysis and fingerprint development. Students will learn to develop fingerprints from a wide variety of materials.

 

Body Recovery Specialist is an 8-hr (UCI Graduates) 16-hours (Non-UCI divers) course and specifically focuses on advanced body recovery techniques to include body bagging, weighted body bagging recovery techniques and conducting detailed grid systems and sieves searching for bones, teeth and other small physical evidence.

 

Vehicle Recovery Specialist is an 8-hr (UCI Graduates) 16-hours (Non-UCI divers) course and specifically focuses on advanced vehicle recovery techniques to include lifting vehicles with lift bags. The students will become proficient in conducting straight lifting techniques as well as vehicle flipping techniques.

 

CSI Metal Detector Specialist is an 8-hr (UCI Graduates) 16-hours (Non-UCI divers) course and specifically teaches all aspects of land and underwater crime scene metal detector use. The students will become highly proficient in the use of metal detectors, their function, capabilities and search techniques.

 

Master Underwater Criminal Investigator is an 8-hr course and incorporates the five courses listed above. This course combines the skills and knowledge the students have received in the above listed training into 2 scenarios that challenges the UCI diver's skills and abilities. 

 

Underwater Criminal Investigator Instructor is only for those who have the experience, training and qualifications to become UCI instructors. Unlike most training companies, UCI does not let just anyone become a UCI instructor. Our instructor program insures our instructors are qualified to teach UCI programs and our goal is to offer PSD training that actually allows you to "master" the skills being taught. To do this, our training programs are performance based and are only taught be those who are highly qualified, experienced and trained themselves.

 

UCI Deep Diving Specialist is a 3-day training program that focuses on how to conduct public safety diving operations in a deep water environment. Skills include deep diving procedures, Nitrox use, search patterns, evidence recovery techniques, emergency procedures and more. Conducting evidence, vehicle and body recoveries in a deep water environment are the main focus of this course.

 

UCI Ice Diving Specialist is a 3-day training program that focuses on how to conduct underwater criminal investigations in an ice diving environment. Skills include ice diving techniques, search patterns, evidence recovery techniques, emergency procedures and more. Conducting evidence, vehicle and body recoveries under the ice are the main focus of this training program.

 

Full-Face Mask Diver is a 16-hr training program that teaches all aspects of diving with a full face mask to include full-face mask diving techniques, emergency procedures and hard wire and wireless communication systems.

 

UCI Surface Supplied Air Specialist is a 16-hr training program that teaches surface supplied air diving using full-face masks, dive helmets and using the DCS Dive Control System for surface supplied air diving.

 

Public Safety Diver course is a 24-hour course specifically designed as your foundational course in PSD. It covers near-shore rescue response, Self-Rescue Skills, Diver Stress, Rapid Response Techniques, PSD Assessment, Cold-water Near Drowning Emergencies and Response, Rescue Readiness, Managing an Emergency, Equipment Considerations and  Familiarization, Rescue Procedures, Egress, Underwater Emergencies, Search Patterns, Family and Media Communication Skills and more.

 

Advanced Public Safety Diver is a 16-hr advanced PSD Rescue course that specifically focuses on away from shore rescue response. This program teaches advanced search patterns used away from shore and vehicle/victim related rescues.

 

Master Public Safety Diver - This program is only open to those who have met the training and experience prerequisites and is only achieved by a select few individuals in the world.

UCI Port Security Specialist - This program covers a wide variety of topics and diving skills to allow the student to respond to maritime threats around ports, bridges, ships etc. This is a 5-day intensive training programs for those responsible for maritime security.

 

Master Underwater Criminal Investigator Instructor is achieve by only a select few UCI Instructors. Those instructors who hold this title are in a elite class and have demonstrated their abilities through years of experience in teaching UCI courses and continuing to be an active Underwater Criminal Investigator serving their community and country. These instructors are certified to teach all of the above listed training programs.
