Public Safety Diver

Workshops

PADI Americas joined forces with Underwater Criminal Investigators to develop a series of workshops helping train public safety divers. Four courses are usually taught during a workshop:

The PADI Public Safety Diver Specialty course - is designed to establish a solid public safety diving foundation by familiarizing divers with the skills, knowledge, organization, procedures and hazards of public safety diving. The course also includes two rescue scenarios.

The PADI PSD Surface Tender Specialty course - is designed for the PSD Team's surface support personnel interested in receiving training in a wide variety of surface responsibilities including documentation procedures, line tendering techniques, buddy checking and emergency response procedures.

The PADI Underwater Criminal Investigator course - is designed to prepare attendees to become professional underwater investigators by teaching them techniques on establishing a crime scene, expanded search procedures, evidence recovery and preservation skills, light and heavy salvage procedures, case preparation and much more.

The PADI Public Safety Diver Specialty Instructor course - The PADI Public Safety Diver Specialty Instructor Course covers how to organize, promote and conduct the PADI Public Safety Diver Course.
