Ryan Mareno is a Sergeant with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office in Lake Charles, Louisiana and is assigned to their Marine Enforcement Division. He has over 20 year in law enforcement and public safety diving and is a Master UCI Instructor. Ryan joined the Calcasieu Sheriff's Office Dive Team in 2002, then became the team leader in 2008.
Ryan has participated in hundreds of underwater criminal investigations and was the lead diver during the multi-year FBI search and eventual body recovery of Israeli national homicide victim, Ran Mesika. Ryan and his team or often called upon to assist and/or conduct dive operations with local, state, and federal agencies.
Ryan is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, PADI Public Safety Diver Instructor, and authored the first PADI approved Public Safety Industrial Helmet Course to allow Public Safety teams to use commercial dive helmets. Ryan is also an experienced weapons armorer, Less Lethal Instructor, and DWI/Field Sobriety Instructor.
